What is DYN.VC?

DYN.VC is a free Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service that allows you to point a fixed domain name to a dynamically changing IP address. This is particularly useful for home broadband, mobile networks, and other environments where IP addresses change frequently.

Is the service really free?

Yes, DYN.VC provides completely free basic services. You can:

• Register up to 10 subdomains for free
• Update DNS records unlimited times
• Manage domains using Web interface or API

Which domain suffixes are supported?

Currently we support the following domain suffix:

• .dyn.vc - Suitable for dynamic DNS purposes

How do I register an account?

You have two registration options:

1. Email Registration: Register with email address and password
2. Telegram Login: Quick login with Telegram account, no password needed

What if I forget my password?

If you registered with Email:

1. Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page
2. Enter the email address used during registration
3. Check your email for the reset link (valid for 1 hour)
4. Click the link to set a new password

If you use Telegram login, no password is needed. Simply login with Telegram directly.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, please contact our support team to help delete your account. Deleting your account will:

• Remove all your domain records
• Delete personal information
• This action cannot be undone

How do I update DNS records?

You have multiple ways to update DNS records:

1. Web Interface: Login and manually update on the "DNS Records" page
2. HTTP API: Use simple HTTP GET requests for automatic updates
3. DDNS Client: Use routers or software that support DynDNS protocol

How long does it take for DNS records to take effect?

Our DNS record TTL (Time To Live) is set to 60 seconds, which means:

• Updates take effect globally within 60 seconds maximum
• Actual propagation time may vary slightly due to ISP caching
• We recommend waiting 2-3 minutes to ensure full propagation

What record types are supported?

Currently supported DNS record types:

• A Record: IPv4 address (e.g., 192.168.1.1)
• AAAA Record: IPv6 address (e.g., 2001:db8::1)

Each domain can have both A and AAAA records set simultaneously.

How often do domains need to be renewed?

All domains need to be renewed every 6 months:

• Renewal is completely free, just click the "Renew" button
• The system will start reminding you 30 days before expiration
• Domains not renewed past the deadline will be released for others to register

How do I configure DDNS on my router?

Most routers support DynDNS protocol. Configuration steps:

1. Find DDNS or Dynamic DNS settings in your router's admin interface
2. Select service provider as "Custom" or "User Defined"
3. Set update URL to: https://dyn.vc/update?hostname=yourdomain&myip=yourip
4. Enter your username and password
5. Enable DDNS service

What are the API request limits?

To ensure service quality, we have implemented the following limits:

• Maximum 60 API requests per minute
• Maximum 1000 requests per hour
• Exceeding limits will return 429 error code

Why can't my domain be resolved?

Please check these common reasons:

1. Confirm domain status is "Active" not "Pending"
2. Check if A or AAAA records are properly configured
3. Wait for DNS cache to update (maximum 60 seconds)
4. Try using nslookup yourdomain ns1.dyn.vc for direct query
5. Confirm domain hasn't expired and needs renewal

Is IPv6 supported?

Yes, we fully support IPv6:

• You can set AAAA records pointing to IPv6 addresses
• API supports automatic IPv6 address detection
